who is the workshop aimed at
This workshop is predominantly aimed at leaders that have completed their Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) and/or Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) qualification.
This includes leaders / coaches from both Running clubs and RunTogether groups.
The workshops may also be of particular interest to participants who are currently supporting running groups without being formally qualified but are looking to book onto a qualification.
What will the day cover
The Run Leader Development Days are back for 2018. As before the Run Leader development days are a three part series taking place in October, January and March. Each day will start promptly with registration at 9:45am and end at 15:00pm.
The first workshop in this years series will focus on:
10:00 - 13:00
• Managing Risk (includes running routes, registers, first aid, emergency contacts) - Information and group discussion
• Development of the warm up – what do you want your warm up to achieve? (including Agility, Balance and Coordination) - group practical
• Developing running technique - group practical
• Leaders questions (upon arrival leaders will be asked to write down questions they would like answering) - information and group discussion

Chris Hollinshead has delivered the Run Leader development days since conception in 2015. As lead tutor for the LiRF qualification he has worked with both new and established leaders and coaches for many years. Chris is lead endurance coach for the Paralympic talent development camps, Mentor on the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) Programme for endurance athletes and is an Endurance coach for his resident club Cannock and Stafford AC.
