Snow and ice will bring disruption to parts of England and Wales from Thursday afternoon through into Friday.

If this changes into an Amber Warning then we will have to cancel.

A mixture of group training sessions and time to train, coach network and development sessions.

Talks from experienced coaches and athletes to share best practice.

Based on standards of Women - Sub 2.55 marathon or sub 80 half Men - Sub 2.28 marathon or sub 68 half PLUS Other identified 10k and half marathon runners looking to move up to the marathon in the next 18 months.

Arrive from Friday 1st Feb 2019 2pm onwards. Finishes after lunch on Sunday 3rd Feb 2019.

Timetable for weekend

England Athletics Marathon Programme Forest of Dean Training Weekend 1st February - 3rd February 2019

Friday 3-6pm: Arrival & 45-60 min run in the forest for those able to make it. room allocation and welcome from the team. Accommodation is on a shared dorm basis 6-7pm: Evening meal - all meals & snacks are provided 7-8pm: Introductions Dan Robinson & Nick Anderson - marathon physiology and preparation over the next 12 weeks 8pm: Relax & pub

Saturday 7.30am: Optional morning run 8am: Breakfast 9am-11am: Chris Bramah - Injury prevention and marathon training 11am-1pm: Group tempo session 1-2pm: Lunch 2-4pm: Gareth Walton - S&C for the marathon runner 4.30pm: Optional afternoon run (bring a head torch if you have one) 6-7pm: Evening meal 7-8pm: Interview with Alan Storey on marathon training strategy & periodization 8.30pm: Relax

Sunday 8am: Breakfast 9am: Group training discussion and Q&A 10am: Long runs in the Forest 12-1pm Lunch 1.30pm: Camp closes - safe journey home

Kit list • Road shoes will be fine on all trails although you may wish to bring trail shoes also. All paths are firm and good for running.

• Plenty of warm running kit options.

• Towel - please bring your own! – there are lots of warm showers at the centre.

• All bedding provided but please do bring anything you need to be comfortable.

• Extra snacks. We will provide snacks and sports drinks/gels but please do bring your own favorites and current choices.
